Interactive notebooks are foundational to applied data science, but notebook-based workflows can be plagued by out-of-order execution, difficult storage formats, and unwanted input-output mixing. Marimo is a modern, batteries-included Python notebook system that tackles these problems head-on, and this talk will discuss how some of Marimo’s core features make notebook workflows safer and more productive. We’ll highlight features that make notebooks both safer to use and fit more naturally into data science workflow, from Marimo’s reactive execution model to its script-based format and native support for sandboxed environments.
